This past weekend was the Woodward Dream Cruise, which is basically a massive car show. Folks show up from around the country to show off their old cars and cruise Detroit's Woodward Avenue. This of course meant that we had to take Maybelline out for a cruise. You can see some great pictures of our day on Jillian's Facebook page. We saw some really great old cars, but none with quite the same personality as Maybelline (pictured at left).
We also tried some new restaurants during the Cruise Weekend. On Friday, we checked out The Emory. We had a couple of awesome burgers, and I enjoyed a great local beer: Dark Horse's Crooked Tree IPA. I'm doing my best to learn the local beer culture.
Lunch on Saturday was at Anita's Kitchen, an awesome Lebanese place that is directly across the street from The Emory. Both restaurants were perfect places to watch the cruise.
We had heard a lot about the hassle of the Dream Cruise, and it's true that Woodward basically shuts down for three days. If you need to get somewhere, it can be a pain. But we found the Cruise to be a great chance to learn more about the city (and some cars). And (of course) it was a great excuse to try more of the restaurants in Ferndale.
